Operation Santa Delivers Christmas Gifts operation santa letters

Imagine what it would be like if you didn’t have enough money to buy your children gifts for the holidays?

2016 marks the 104th anniversary of Operation Santa by the Postal Service.  The USPS continues to fulfill the dreams of children nationwide. Postal employees, volunteers and organizations remain committed to making children’s Christmas wishes come true.

Operation Santa is a holiday tradition that allows people to read letters to Santa from families in need. Participants can select which family they want to “adopt,” and purchase gifts that will be delivered in time for Christmas.

The post office receives hundreds of letters every year from families in need.

How can you help?

At the Fort Point Channel Post Office off Summer Street, visitors can view letters and adopt children until Saturday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m.

Gifts should be brought back to the post office by Wednesday, Dec. 21, so they can be delivered by Christmas.

Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas!
